Miami Heat coach might team up with Pacquiao

Manny Pacquiao's appeal is broad. Aside from most of the Philippines, he's got fans from all corners of the earth. Even on the bench in the NBA.

"Pac-Man" is loved by Filipino-Americans. That includes Heat coach Erik Spoelstra. The young coach down in Miami will be keeping an eye on Saturday's fight and looking forward to working with Pacquiao in his homeland.

According to ABS-CBN news Spoelstra wants to hold sports clinics in the Philippines:

The plan is to hold a series of clinics in the Philippines next year to promote sports and healthy lifestyles for the youth.

"It's for a good cause, and we're really excited about the chance to do it,” the Fil-Am coach added.

Spoelstra mentioned that the clinics would likely be held in Pacquiao’s birthplace—Kibawe, Bukidnon.

One sticking point may be Pac-Man's love of the Celtics. For some odd reason, the little guy latched onto Boston as his favorite NBA team. Now that Miami has its own "Big Three" maybe Pacquiao will have a change of heart.

All kidding aside, it sounds like a cool deal for Filipinos. The clinics will be part of the NBA FIT program.
