Last January, Ross over at New Stadium Insider brought us the story of a furious fan who canceled his season tickets after a World Series title because he didn't approve of Brian Cashman's offseason moves.
Today, Ross is bringing us the story of why he himself is canceling his 41-game ticket plan in the Bronx, though it has nothing to do with the Yanks' failure to sign anyone of note so far and everything to do with the Yanks' decision not to guarantee him playoff tickets as part of his package.
You'll have to go over to Ross' site to read his full explanation, but I think this makes a great starting point for a good conversation. 4. Ryne Duren, a hard-throwing reliever for the Yankees in the late 1950s, died at 81 last Thursday. He was famous for both his fastball and the thick glasses he wore, and his obituary carried Duren's brutally honest acknowledgement of another extreme in his life. NY Times
"Sportswriters wrote that I wore glasses that resembled the bottoms of Coke bottles. Everyone agreed that it was a dangerous combination: a guy wearing glasses that thick and throwing a pitch that fast.
