Tiger Woods may not be getting much love in the golf world, but he's still big news among those who hear "Kim" and think "Kardashian," not "Anthony" or "Christina." (Those poor, misguided souls. But that's another story.)
Anyway, Woods is about to drop out of the top 10 in the Official World Golf Rankings. That's what happens when you haven't won in 18 months, since the 2009 Australian Masters, and the OWGR uses a rolling two-year formula. Does that matter? Depends on whether you feel like using it as ammunition on why Woods is done yet or not.
On the other end of the spectrum, Woods ranks sixth in Forbes' Celebrity 100, the list of the country's most powerful and wealthiest celebrities. Woods is the highest-ranking athlete on the list; only LeBron James even cracks the top 10.
For those of you so inclined, those ahead of Woods include Lady Gaga, Oprah Winfrey, Justin Bieber, U2 and Elton John. Maybe he ought to be playing them; they'd put up less of a challenge over four days.
