Harvick/Busch truck race showdown ends without fireworks

The Lucas Oil 200 truck race at Dover on Friday night had to be the most eagerly anticipated tape-delayed Friday night truck race of the year, if not all time. Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick, stars of this week's ongoing fight/spat/tiff/drama, both in the race and both up front? Surely we'd see some kind of spark between the two, right?

A few laps into the race, Harvick was leading, and right on his bumper came Busch. Would this be it? Would this be the moment we'd been waiting for? Let's go to the video:

Yeah, that was, well, pretty anticlimactic. Busch screamed right by Harvick as if Harvick were a go-or-go-home qualifier in Sprint Cup. It'll be different on Sunday, we're guessing.

As it turned out, both drivers were in the mix late, but it was Busch who had the shot at a win, dueling Cole Whitt through several restarts. And you know how these things tend to turn out when Kyle Busch is running for the win in the lower series:

After the race, Harvick called his car "really, really loose;" a pit road speeding penalty doomed any chance he might have had at a challenge for Busch. While Kyle is racing in the Nationwide event on Saturday, Harvick isn't, so we'll have to wait until Sunday to see if there are further chapters to the story.
